James Part 16

1 John 1:8-9 CSB
If we say, “We have no sin,” we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

1 Peter 4:10-11
Just as each one has received a gift, use it to serve others, as good stewards of the varied grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, let it be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, let it be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.

1 Corinthians 12:1
Now concerning spiritual gifts brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be unaware.

1 Corinthians 12:4-7, 11
Now there are different gifts, but the same Spirit. 5 There are different ministries, but the same Lord. 6 And there are different activities, but the same God works all of them in each person. 7 A manifestation of the Spirit is given to each person for the common good: 11One and the same Spirit is active in all these, distributing to each person as he wills.

James 2:1-4, 9 NASB
My brothers and sisters, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. 2 For if a man comes into your assembly with a gold ring and is dressed in bright clothes, and a poor man in dirty clothes also comes in, 3 and you pay special attention to the one who is wearing the bright clothes, and say, “You sit here in a good place,” and you say to the poor man, “You stand over there, or sit down by my footstool,” 4 have you not made distinctions among yourselves, and become judges with evil motives?

9 But if you show partiality, you are committing sin and are convicted by the Law as violators.

James 2:12-13
Speak and act as those who are to be judged by the law of freedom. 13 For judgment is without mercy to the one who has not shown mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Love one another deeply as brothers and sisters. Take the lead in honoring one another.

Mark 12:14-14a

2 Chronicles 19:6-7
He said to the judges, “Consider what you are doing, for you do not judge for mankind but for the Lord who is with you when you render judgment. 7 Now then, let the fear of the Lord be upon you; be careful about what you do, for the Lord our God will have no part in injustice or partiality, or in the taking of a bribe.”
