Philippians: Set Apart

Isaiah 65:1a
I was ready to be sought by those who did not ask for me; I was ready to be found by those who did not seek me.

Acts 7:54-58
Now when they heard these things they were enraged, and they ground their teeth at him. 55 But he, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God. 56 And he said, “Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God.” 57 But they cried out with a loud voice and stopped their ears and rushed together at him. 58 Then they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.

Acts 9:1-6
But Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest and asked him for letters to the synagogues at Damascus, so that if he found any belonging to the Way,  men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. Now as he went on his way, he approached Damascus, and suddenly a light from heaven shone around him. And falling to the ground, he heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” And he said, “Who are you, Lord?” And he said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. But rise and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”

Galatians 1:15-16a
But when God, who from my mother’s womb set me apart and called me by his grace, was pleased 16 to reveal his Son in me, so that I could preach him among the Gentiles

We are going to take what is called a CHRISTOCENTRIC Approach to the book of Philippians:  Christocentric is a theological term and position of viewing everything from the viewpoint of Christ is _________________ of.

Grace was NOT just PARDON from Paul’s Sin but also the _________________ Source that enabled his calling as an apostle.

Jeremiah 1:4-6
The word of the Lord came to me:  I chose you before I formed you in the womb; I set you apart before you were born. I appointed you a prophet to the nations.  But I protested, “Oh no, Lord God! Look, I don’t know how to speak since I am only a youth.”

No Soul is too far gone for God to _______________ and God to _________.

Acts 9:17-20
Ananias went and entered the house. He placed his hands on him and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on the road you were traveling, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”  18 At once something like scales fell from his eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized. 19 And after taking some food, he regained his strength.  Saul was with the disciples in Damascus for some time. 20 Immediately he began proclaiming Jesus in the synagogues: “He is the Son of God.”

Acts 16:1-2
Paul came also to Derbe and to Lystra. A disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek. He was well spoken of by the brothers at Lystra and Iconium.

Philippians 2:19-20
I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I too may be cheered by news of you. 20 For I have no one like him, who will be genuinely concerned for your welfare.

Do you know what you have been apart by God for?  ____________________________________________.

Why is this important?

Because every single one of us will either _________________ our Lives or _______________ our Lives.
