Preparing for Rain

1 Kings 18:42b-45 CSB
but Elijah went up to the summit of Carmel. He bent down on the ground and put his face between his knees. 43 Then he said to his servant, “Go up and look toward the sea.”  So he went up, looked, and said, “There’s nothing.”  Seven times Elijah said, “Go back.”  44 On the seventh time, he reported, “There’s a cloud as small as a man’s hand coming up from the sea.”  Then Elijah said, “Go and tell Ahab, ‘Get your chariot ready and go down so the rain doesn’t stop you.’”  45 In a little while, the sky grew dark with clouds and wind, and there was a downpour.

Acts 2:17-21
And it will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all people;
then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. 18 I will even pour out my Spirit on my servants in those days, both men and women and they will prophesy. 19 I will display wonders in the heaven above and signs on the earth below: blood and fire and a cloud of smoke. 20 The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes. 21 Then everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.

Psalm 24:3-5
Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord?  Who may stand in his holy place?  The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not appealed to what is false, and who has not sworn deceitfully. He will receive blessing from the Lord, and righteousness from the God of his salvation.

Hosea 10:12
Sow righteousness for yourselves and reap faithful love; break up your unplowed ground. It is time to seek the Lord until he comes and sends righteousness on you like the rain.
